Notice: Immediate Gauge Removals Prior to Epoch 11

Summary

In accordance with the emergency and operational authority granted to the Puffer team under PIP-2: Governance Framework for Removing Incentive Gauges, the following four gauges will be immediately removed prior to the start of Epoch 11.

These gauges are inactive, obsolete, or no longer aligned with Puffer DAO’s current incentive strategy. Removing them will improve emissions efficiency and maintain gauge integrity across the ecosystem.

Gauges Being Removed

1. Mind Network

  • Reason: PufETH Vault has been removed; it is no longer an active integration.

  • Status: Defunct.

2. Cyber

  • Reason: The Cyber pufETH Campaign has concluded; emissions are no longer provided.

  • Status: Defunct.

3. Pencils

  • Reason: The Pencils’ Project is undergoing a rebrand/product change and shifted away from an Ethereum focus.

  • Status: Misaligned.

4. TermMax

  • Reason: The existing TermMax gauge is registered to an expired collateral asset and, therefore, is being replaced with a new TermMax vault gauge.

  • Status: Obsolete.

Rationale

These removals are made under PIP-2’s provision for team-initiated action when gauges are:

  • Functionally defunct (e.g., broken, abandoned, rebranded).

  • Actively misaligned with current DAO priorities.

This process ensures emissions are not wasted and that gauge voting remains meaningful and strategically relevant. Affected gauges show no current emissions participation or protocol activity and are confirmed to pose no downstream impact to protocol stability or user positions.

Community Input Welcome

While the removals are effective immediately, we invite any comments, clarifications, or reconsideration requests from the community. These can be shared directly in this thread.

If any objections arise, a community-led proposal to reinstate a gauge may be submitted under standard PIP-2 guidelines.

These removals will be finalized before the start of Epoch 11.
