Summary

In accordance with the emergency and operational authority granted to the Puffer team under PIP-2: Governance Framework for Removing Incentive Gauges, we are actioning an immediate gauge removal prior to the start of Epoch 21.

These gauges have either consistently shown low support across several Epochs, are inactive, are obsolete, or are no longer aligned with PufferDAO’s current incentive strategy. Removing them will improve emissions efficiency and maintain gauge integrity across the ecosystem.

Gauges Being Removed

1. vePUFFER

  • Reason: Vault is defunct/No longer in use.

  • Status: Deposits have been blocked, and Users have been asked to withdraw any of their funds.

2. TAC (Native) Vault

  • Reason: Vault is defunct/No longer in use.

  • Status: Deposits have been blocked, and Users have been asked to withdraw any of their funds.

3. Balancer

  • Reason: Very low support and interest shown across the past 3 Epochs.

  • Status: Underperformance/Inactivity or Lack of User Adoption.

4. DeSyn

  • Reason: Very low support and interest shown across the past 3 Epochs.

  • Status: Underperformance/Inactivity or Lack of User Adoption.

5. LlamaLend

  • Reason: Very low support and interest shown across the past 3 Epochs.

  • Status: Underperformance/Inactivity or Lack of User Adoption.

Rationale

These removals are made under PIP-2’s Team-Initiated Immediate Removal authority, justified by either being obsolete, sustained inactivity and/or lack of user adoption.

This process ensures emissions are not wasted, and that gauge voting remains meaningful and strategically relevant. Affected gauges show no current participation in emissions or protocol activity and are confirmed to pose no downstream impact on protocol stability or user positions.

Community Input Welcome

While the removal from the upcoming Epoch is immediate, we invite the community to submit any comments, clarifications, or reconsideration requests. These can be shared directly in this thread.

If any objections arise, a community-led proposal to reinstate a gauge may be submitted under standard PIP-2 guidelines.

These removals will be finalized before the start of Epoch 21.

This “removals” notice makes sense. The crypro markets moves fast, and the incentivized gauges need to be updated to maximize the value for Puffer community and improve UX!

The new list of gauges will be valid in the next voting epoch, right?
